House Rules
HOUSE RULES
We are pretty flexible but there are some things that because of our lifestyle/illnesses etc we CANNOT tolerate. These are listed below:
FOODS
Please DO NOT EAT NUTS either IN THE HOUSE or OUTSIDE of it during your stay. Proteins that we are allergic to can be transmitted via people’s skins and transferred to other people’s skins or onto door handles etc where we can then pick them up.
This is MAJOR for us as we have nut allergies.
TOILETRIES
Again, because of allergic reactions, can you please not use fragranced toiletries in our home. If you must use a particular product then please confine it to your own room, but even so, the perfume will still be in the air and affecting us.
NOISE LEVELS
We are an early-to-bed early-to-rise family and whilst we don’t expect you to be up at 6.30am we do expect that the noise level is kept down to a whisper after 11.30pm at night. Our son works shifts as well and so needs to get to sleep some nights, other’s he is up till 2am but we never hear him.
TOWELS
Can you please use your own towels when you use the bathroom or toilet and keep them in your room. Hang them over the top bunk if they are particularly damp or ask and we will hang them outside or tumble dry them for you.
KITCHEN
Because of allergies again, we do not allow anyone (friend or family) to use our kitchen. If you need anything please ask and we’ll do our best to help but you should have all that you need in your room for drinks and snacks and fruit will be available in the dining room at all times.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN – QUEST GUESTS
SHOWERS – After 9am
The shower will be free after 9am each morning. We would ask you to be mindful of water/electricity usage. A 10 minute shower is ample.
BREAKFAST – 9am – 11am
Cereals and toast will be available in the dining room from 9am until around 11am. Come and help yourself. Please let us know if you need a larger breakfast than that such as beans or egg on toast.
LUNCH – 1.30 pm
Lunch will be pizza or jacket potato and cheese or a pasty with salad and fruit, with a small selection of cake and yogurt. This will be available in the dining room from around 1.30pm – we’ll let you know when it’s ready :)
TEA – 6.30pm
Tea will either be fish fillets, chips and peas, meat pasta, stir fry with rice or chicken/meat pie with vegetables. Sweets will be ice cream or crumble/fruit pudding with ice cream. Again, we’ll give you a shout when it’s ready :)
DRINKS
Tea, coffee, water etc will be available in your room.
SNACKS
There will be a box of snacks/chocolate biscuits etc in your room. This will be refilled during your stay – see the date on the box lid.
WASHING
If you do require any clothes washing, please drop them in the bath and let us know – all clothes are washed in Ecover (fragrance free) powder. If there are any special washing instructions, please advise as we wash most clothes on 50 degrees.
Smoking Rules
Your host is a non-smoker.
Smoking is not allowed.

I had been enjoyed my trip, meals were very tasty and this host family was very welcoming. Thank for this happy moment and maybe see you next time.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
