You will enjoy the convenience and comforts of your own private bedroom and separate bathroom in this 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom townhouse located minutes from downtown Atlanta in the East Atlanta section, recently designated "third hottest neighborhood in the U.S. The house is a 20 minute car or taxi ride to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, one of the largest hub airports in the U.S. with many direct international and domestic flights. There is also a bus that will take you to the train to get to the airport.
You will share the house with the owner, a retired professor who is known for excellent cooking (world cuisines as well as American), entertaining guests, and an active schedule in the arts and education. Otherwise, it's a quiet house and friendly, gated community with lots of outdoor "green space" that was built in 2002. You should have many opportunities to meet new friends. Two indoor cats live here, too, Soka and Suchi, so I hope you like cats. The bus stops at the corner to connect to Atlanta's MARTA public transportation system with access to several college campuses and many of Atlanta's quintessential attractions. There's a lot of U.S. history to see in Atlanta, especially about the Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement, in addition to top quality museums, parks, theater, concerts, and a thriving local music scene. About the Area
This house is located on the southeast side of Atlanta, a city of approximately 5 million people, the major city in the Southern United States. It is located on a winding, tree-lined street 2 miles from East Atlanta Village, a hub of restaurants, shops, and night life, near the international airport and to the heart of downtown Atlanta. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the house and connects to Atlanta's public transportation system. There are also bike lanes throughout much of Atlanta and an AMTRAK station, METROBUS, and GREYHOUND BUS for traveling beyond the city.

House Rules
Overall, you will be expected to respect privacy and appropriate noise levels, clean up after yourself, and be a considerate, courteous guest. The house has an alarm system; please keep it secure and double-lock the doors when entering and leaving the house. Take care to not let the cats go outside; you may not bring any additional pets. You may do laundry once a week (up to 2 loads) and I ask that you do full rather than partial loads whenever possible. If you break, damage, or use up something, fix it or replace it. You should plan to use public transportation (or get a bicycle) for most activities, but owner may occasionally provide local rides at reasonable times. If you have a car, you will also need to review and abide by the rules of this community concerning parking, etc. Please do not invite strangers into our home and no overnight guests; if you would like to invite a friend over just arrange it with me in advance. You are welcome to use the kitchen as long as you clean up after yourself. Cleaning of your room and your private bathroom are also your responsibility. Please be quiet after 10 p.m. No recreational drugs allowed on the premises. Also, please do not adjust heat and air conditioning settings yourself; ask and I will happily do it for you. Please enjoy your stay and treat our house as you would your own home!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
