Everything went smooth from booking, check-in and check-out, accommodation experience and getting around. The place was convenient, clean, quiet, secure, provided with necessary amenities and had good natural ventilation. The host was helpful. Kera and Homestay, keep up your effort.
Kera was lovely and everything went very smoothly. Lovely house !
In Boston, hotels are expensive, and I thought I would check out private accommodation. I chose Kera because of the nice reviews, but I now regret the whole thing.Even when I asked Kera for the correct address, I heard nothing.
I arrived in Boston, not knowing where I was staying. Several messages were sent to Kera, I heard nothing. After contacting homestay directly, I finally was given the address, but I still had no idea how to access the room I had booked. I was given a phone number, and I called four times with no answer. I left messages, but she did not call me back. While sitting on her porch, looking like a fool, I finally texted her (which was not easy with a foreign number), and she texted me back after a while. After eight messages I was given the instructions to get into my room, and SIX hours after arriving in Boston, I was able to unload my suitcases.
I had to ask which room was mine, and where to find it. And when the room was located and I checked out the premises, it was dusty, untidy and filthy. I told her the bathroom was dirty and she said she thought it was OK, and even when she had gotten to clean it, it still was dirty. Needless to say, I did NOT eat anything there. I lost a whole day in Boston because of this mess, and I did not even get to meet my host, as she was away most of the day.
My standards are not high, I don't need luxury or lots of space, as long as the sheets, the room and the bathroom are clean, I am happy. I have to admit I used my own blanket, I did not dare to check out the sheets.
I will never use homestay again.
Kera is a very nice host. She even offered us a bigger room than the one we already booked. I have no complaints and I highly recommend her as a host for whoever is travelling to Boston. The house is just 10 mins walking from Hardvard and from the subway station :)
Kera is a sincere person. Nice to meet her. Take care
Lovely apartment situated in a wonderful position very close to metro and bus station.
I spent four nights at Kera's place. It's very well placed, near to the River Charles and within easy walking distance of Harvard University campus as well as the nearest metro (circa 10 mins walk) that takes you into the heart of Boston. The rooms are all quite spacious, on the upper floor of the house, and self-contained in that there's a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, the latter with an excellent shower (and tub!). The entrance is through the main door (not separate) but that's no problem. Kera is very friendly and accommodating and provides a choice of breakfast goods as well as any information you might need about transport etc. Try it out and have a great time!
Kera was extremely warm and welcoming. She made sure I was comfortable all through. The room and bathroom were both very clean and comfortable. She also offers a complimentary breakfast every morning.
If you're looking for good basic accommodation with excellent access to Harvard, MIT and the Boston T Network then consider this location. Lovely host and great location mean you can walk to any of the above with ease (inc Boston).
