I live in a house built in 1895 that me and my father lovingly restored while keeping it's original charm. I am the third owner the house, only preceded by the wealthy brewing company family that built the house and archdiocese of Chicago which ran the home as a Catholic settlement house in Chicago. I'm public transitable to most major universities in Chicago including: Depaul, Northwestern, Columbia, UIC, Loyola, IIT, CSU, Roosevelt, Kendall.
The property spans three city lots and has over 7000sq ft of total living space across two buildings. The house is about a block away from the Kedzie green line station and is about 20 minutes from the city center via public transit/biking. The house has a shared kitchen and multiple shared bathrooms. There is about 2500 square feet of common areas including a dining room, pool room, 2 living rooms, and a tv area. There are a total of 11 bedrooms in house, of which I'm happy to recommend which room is the best fit based on your needs/requirements. The house has a private yard with multiple outdoor seating areas, and if you have a car that's electric, I have charging for that as well.
I travel overseas for work about 4 months out of the year, but I have some other long term guests that help manage the property while I'm away. I'm open to arrangements like this with tenants on a case by case basis.
The house has 1 gigabit wifi and commercial access points. All utilities including heat, power, internet are included.

About the Area
I am one block from the Kedzie Green line station and a half block from the nearest bus stop. East Garfield park is a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood, with pockets of abandoned houses mixed with $500k+ homes.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Since you are staying in my home, I just ask that you have basic respect for my house and the belongings. Be courteous to others and clean up after yourself when using the kitchen/bathrooms.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house, however there are multiple areas that have been designated for this activity.
I ask that you be respectful of others with quiet hours beginning at 10pm and going until 8am. This doesn't mean church mouse quiet, but just turn the TV/Stereo down. If you have guests over the best place for this is the first floor where there are no bedrooms.

Hola! Estuve 2 meses en esta casa. Ryan fue muy simpático y estaba disponible para solucionarme cualquier duda. La casa es espectacular y se encuentra a 5 min andando de la parada de metro Kedzie (Green line). 100% recomendable.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
