Welcome to our homestay! Our family loves to travel and host international guests. Our adult son, daughter and her husband live in San Diego.
Wes is a pastor at a local church and police chaplain. Aimee works from home as a certified Health Coach.
We love interacting with our homestay guests. If you are here to learn English, great! We watch TV with subtitles.
Our 5-bedroom 3-bath spacious home was recently remodeled, so all the carpet is new, the kitchen is upgraded, the back patio is renovated, and we added on a huge family room. Our dining room table seats 14, and we love to host special events. We have a game table to play chess, checkers, and cards. Actually, our family loves to play games. We'll teach you a few new ones :-)
You are responsible for your own meals. We have an extra refrigerator in the garage that you will share with our other homestay guests, and our kitchen is always available for you to cook for yourself (or for us - LOL).
We have a lovely backyard garden patio where we eat meals and relax when the weather is warm. My son has been working on creating a beautiful succulent/cactus garden in the backyard for two years.
You will find our home quiet and peaceful, yet full of energy with friends and family who like to visit.
There is a gym just 2 miles away that costs about $20 per month - Crunch Gym, plus a popular running path near our house around the Bonita Golf Course.
The public bus is a 10-minute walk, and the bus takes you to the trolley and into Downtown San Diego (centre city), Old Towne, Mission Valley, East County, and now La Jolla.
Citrus trees that produce fresh fruit all year long are scattered around our yard. You will enjoy fresh oranges, lemons, and limes plus a prolific passionfruit vine.
There is a reason San Diego is called America's Finest City, and showing off this fine city is something we do with our homestay guests. We have kayaks and enjoy the ocean and San Diego Bay. Hiking is one of our favorite things to do in and around San Diego. You can join us anytime for a hike or kayak trip.
We don't have any pets, nor do we accept any homestay guests with pets, even though we know they are part of your family. Both of our adult kids have dogs, and they come to visit on occasion.
Please reach out and ask us any questions you may have about our homestay, our family, or our fine city.
It would be our joy and delight to have you stay with us.

About the Area
Our house is located on the north side of the city in a quiet and safe suburb. We are 10 miles from the city centre (we call it downtown San Diego) and only 15 minutes from the airport. The bus stop is a 10-minute walk from the house, which connects to the trolley. There is a golf course down the street with a 3-mile exercise path that we use on a regular basis. A shopping mall is near our house just 2 miles away.

Since your bathroom is a shared bathroom plus the guest bathroom for our friends to use when they visit, we require you to keep that clean and picked up daily. You have free access to the kitchen, just clean up after yourself right away. You are responsible for your own food. We all share one washer and dryer, so be courteous. Your friends are allowed to visit but not spend the night.
Smoking is allowed outdoors only.

Aimee and Wes are exceptionally kind and generous. Not only did they provide a home for me in San Diego while we house-hunted, they also included me in their family and went out of their way to introduce me to the city. I can’t imagine a better place to stay, or better people to stay with.

Where to start. Wes and Aimee are just simply Amazing. They are very welcoming and helpful in whatever situation you are in. They are easy going and very understanding. During my stay, they always made me feel like I was a part of the family and not just a "guest". They took us on a Thanksgiving vacation where we enjoyed a few days together and played a lot of games and ate some amazing food (yeah Aimee is a great cook). They always invited me to their family activities and took me as a part of the family. Also, one of the best things about living with them is the fact that whenever you see or interact with them, they always approach you with a smile! I highly recommend them for anyone who wants to be in a home away from home. I truly believe that they are the best you can find here or on any other website!

Aimee and Wes’s was truly a home away from home! The location is great and very safe, the home is quiet, and the room is very comfortable. I loved getting to know their sweet family while I was there and will hopefully return to visit in the future!
