Welcome Mardi Gras goers!
My name is Kathleen. I am a 26 year old student at the local community college. I am originally from Canada.
I am opening up the extra upstairs bedroom for the Mardi Gras season! It is a very large, private bedroom, with your own en-suite bathroom!
It has a full size bed which can sleep two people, as well as a twin size air mattress which can sleep one.
You are more than welcome to use the kitchen (and all amenities) and living room which are downstairs. I also provide you with a simple breakfast of fruit, toast, eggs, and juice, coffee, or tea.
I absolutely love to host people and love to meet people of all different backgrounds. I am extremely excited about Mardi Gras and am already planning out my costumes! I would love to share this wonderful, festive celebration, and this amazing city with you! I will also have some time off so I can show you around if you'd like!

About the Area
My home is located in the Carrollton area of Uptown New Orleans.
I live right next to increasingly popular Oak street. Oak street is popular for its night life with some of New Orleans' best restaurants and bars, some of which include Maple Leaf Bar, Jacque Imos restaurant, and Snake and Jake's bar which is just accross the street.
My home is also located close to many of the Mardi Gras parade routes. Either a 20 minute street car ride or a 9 minute drive will put you right in the center of all the hustle and bustle.
The biggest of these parades (uptown parades) include: Krewe of King Arthur, Krewe of Nyx, Krewe of Muses, Krewe of Baccus, and Krewe of Rex.
If you're looking for a place to relax during all of the festivities, Audubon park (and zoo) are also a short street car ride (16 mins), or even walk (18 mins) away.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

Great location. Very friendly owners. Although it was very cold since the heater in the house broke and we only had 1 bed (the other was an airmattress) they did what they can to accommodate us(brought us space heater). Great place for college students!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
