I'm a writer who lives in Manhattan's East Village. I'll be here during your visit and would love to have a chat or go out to a local pub. It's a 110 year old tenement building, and there are 3 flights of stairs to walk up, but everything works and the neighborhood is walkable and packed with live performances, interesting inexpensive restaurants and Tompkins Square Park.

About the Area
My apartment is located in the East Village of Manhattan, a lively and safe area with a history of jazz greats and poets. There are a lot of local gift shops, vintage clothing and jewelry stores, restaurants from American Pizza to Ivan Raman - also across the street from an excellent Burmese place, for foodies. The nearby Tenement Museum is a great day visit and gift shop.

Jennifer is nice enoug but...I ended up sharing the apprtment with a guy she was renting the other room to. I wish she would have told me ahead that she wasn' t going to be the one I was goign to she the appartment with. Another thing is, besides the bathroom, the place was pretty messy and not clean at all...The were no shades at the windows of the bedroom I was renting so it wasn't very cozy and restfull. All together a bit disappointed but I have to admit that most of the time, I had the place to myself and the location was good.

I'm really sorry that Joelle didn't get the premium guest experience - I have darker curtains for her room and should have installed them, and hired my housekeeper. The usual neighborhood events weren't going on, because the East Village clears out Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Years Eve - usually guests at that time are visiting family in the area, but it'd be hard to be on one's own. Joelle's review gave me good specific guidance for improvement!

How do I book?

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). When can I share my contact details?
