Our home is located in The Germantown area of Philadelphia where it is plenty to see and tour. We live down the street from the train station and or you can catch a bus to the subway. Plenty of eateries in the area. My significant other and I are empty nesters so we have room to welcome travellers in our home.
We are a quiet house, we're in a quiet area.
We have a front porch that's lovely in the summer with a glass of homemade lemonade.
The only language that we speak is English. We love to go out dancing, the theatre, take a trip to NY, entertain our friends and family.
Please note that our place is not suitable for children.
We have no small children ourselves, and no pets.
We are in a great location!
We are served by bus and train, great public transport services that will take you where you need to go.
Downtown is about 30 minutes away by train (the train station is just down the street from our home). There are lots of places to go for a drink, for a dance, or whatever entertainment you like downtown.
Downtown you can also visit all the wonderful attractions - the Liberty Bell, all the museums that Philadelphia has to offer.
We are about 2 hours away from NYC (New York City), and about 3 hours from Washington DC, so in a great location for guests who are looking to travel some more around the USA
Close to our home is a supermarket, just down the street.
We are also close to Vernon Park and to Blue Bell Park and Wissahickon Creek.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking.

About the Area
Our house is located on a fairly quiet street. We are a block away from the bus stop and train station. Pizza shops, Indian Bistro and a breakfast eatery in the neighbor. A local library us two blocks away and church. Plenty of tourist attractions to see. 45 mins from airport and 30 mins or less from train station.

The hosts could not be nicer. I stayed in a room on the third floor that was small but has its own bathroom (with hair dryer) and wardrobe closet (with iron and ironing board). There are extra covers for the bed and a space heater in case the temperature gets low. The room has a dresser, nightstand, and a desk, plus a TV that gets broadcast channels and Roku. The house has Wi-Fi available. The neighborhood is not glamorous but it is safe, and there are several inexpensive places to eat within easy walking distance, plus a grocery store, laundromat, and public library. SEPTA Regional Rail to Center City is only a three-minute walk from the house. I would happily stay again.

How do I book?
Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
