I work in healthcare and live alone with my sweet dog, Benjamin. Looking for a kind, respectful one-to-four month fit. I keep a cozy home and it's important to be that everyone feels comfortable and safe in the house. Homestay doesn't allow for expansive gender selection, but this is a safe house for trans folks of all walks of life.

About the Area
The house is equidistant from several area hospitals, close to I-5 and light rail with ample parking and great metro transit options. For warmer months, it's also very close to beaches along the rivers. Old school Portland neighborhood, friendly neighbors, and lots of great parks at walking distance.

House Rules
Mutual respect for shared spaces: tidiness, quiet in the evenings, no smoking in the house. I'm looking for mindful folks who have a routine and can be somewhat flexible in adapting to shared living arrangements. Occasional dog feeding/yard breaks if available is a plus, but not required or depended upon.
Don'ts:
- leave drinks on vintage wood surfaces
- leave kitchen messes
- put cast iron in the dish washer
- feel obligated to spend time together if we're both home; I will never be offended if you want to spend time on your own
Dos:
- be open to the fact that I'm non-binary and most of my friends are not straight
- feel free to use the kitchen and fridge. If you're into cooking, I've got a sous vide and other fun gadgets
- be willing to live with a meat eater
- be willing to water the tropical plants in your room, or to allow me weekly access to do so

Nina was the best host I could ask for. They were very welcoming and an excellent resource for all things Portland. They were very easy to live with, and the home is decorated beautifully. There is plenty of closet space and the bedroom has an AC unit. I would 100% stay here again.
P.S. If you stay during the summer, they have a raspberry bush in the backyard!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
