The house has a gas fireplace, backyard, common entry, and is across the street from a large park. The owner lives in the house and works from home.*

The house is on a peaceful neighborhood street with kind and thoughtful neighbors of varied ethnicities. Folks in the neighborhood like to walk to the park. The pleasant, grassy back and side yards overlook the park. They feature blueberries, raspberries, and space for you to plant if you’d like.

$1,200 - One light-filled room is for rent that is about 13 x 13, with vaulted ceiling, attached bathroom and two east-facing windows overlooking the grassy back yard and the park to the south. There is also an additional long/shallow south-facing window that provides privacy. There are two wide closets for storage of your belongings. The room is carpeted with new medium grey carpet. The room is separated from the other two bedrooms by a hall-- no walls are shared between the two spaces.

The first floor has a living room-kitchen open floor plan, with sliding doors that lead to the back patio and grass. The shared kitchen has an electric stove with oven, shared 1200 watt microwave, and toaster oven. The 2021 washer and dryer are located on the first floor but the garage space is not shared.

The 47 year old owner is an urban planner by trade and bought the house in Winter 21-22 and is hoping to find a person who feels positive about themself and others. She’s interested in architecture, art, and urban design and manages a complex project for pay. She’s lived on the East Coast (New York), Indonesia, and Ireland. She cooks a lot at home and goes to the gym. She manages a team remotely for the public sector. She drinks alcohol on occasion but doesn’t use any other mind altering substance in the house.

The home is in an authentic Portland neighborhood near a handful of local eateries and a Sunday farmer’s market. The house is on a bikeway traveling east-west, and about ½ mile north of the MAX red line. It’s just a few minutes' drive from Alameda Ridge/Fremont to the west and Montavilla to the south. It is about 10 minutes by car from Hollywood, including Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Fred Meyer, and New Seasons.

Utilities are shared ($200 – 300). Garbage is included.
No pets.
No smoking.
Single occupancy.
Street parking is plentiful and free. Garage parking may be available for an additional fee.

The small grassy back yard looks across to the park and has an area that can be used for tenant gardening. There is a garage in which a tenant can store a bicycle; additional storage in the garage is not available but there are two wide closets in the rental room.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
