PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately at this time, due to entrance size, I am not able to offer wheelchair accessibility. I'm sorry for the inconvenience

PLEASE NOTE: PAYPAL is no longer accepted by this host to pay booking balance due to the high cost of transfer fees. Please use CASH or REVOLUT or WISE or any of the payment options noted in the payment section below. Thanks

Hello my friends, my apartment is small but well maintained. It is very cozy and clean. It is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, blender, coffee maker, toaster, large stove / oven and refrigerator. All linens, bath towels, body soap, shampoo and conditioner are included. The common area and bathroom is shared with the host only

The printer is accessible over WiFi with most devices for guests needing to conduct business

I offer TV with local channels and your room is equipped with Netflix, HULU, and free high-speed WiFi. There is no mess or clutter because I like to keep things simple. I'm an empty-nester as my only son graduated from NJIT university, found his own flat and started a new career at Tesla.

NOTE: Bed size is a standard U.S. Queen Size (80 inches X 60 inches = 203.2 CM X 152.4 CM)

I am a 56 year old man who is very friendly, sociable and happy to host. As a former Airbnb manager I have gained lots of experience hosting (Se habla Español). It really is a home away from home and you will always be treated as family.

With plenty of local transportation just 1.5 blocks away you can travel to New York City Port Authority Bus & Subway Terminal (also known as Times Square & 42St). From there the sky is the limit as to where you can go in NYC..... 42nd Street (Times Square), Empire State Building, One World Observatory, Intrepid Air & Space Museum, Central Park, Stature Of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Rockefeller Center, MOMA.... the list is endless! All points in Lower, Mid & Upper Manhattan

On a nice day you can walk 25 minutes to the Port Imperial Ferry (Weehawken, NJ) which will take you to Wall Street/Pier 11 and so much more. Please visit nywaterway.com for fares, routes and schedules.

Please note that currently the NYC Metro Card for subway/busses are not accepted on NJ Transit busses. NJ Transit passes (Flex Pass = multiple bus rides) may be purchased at Port Authority for use on any NJ Transit bus. These passes are offered at 20% discount versus paying cash on bus. Once here, I recommend the NJ & MTA Transit Apps which gives you up-to-the-minute New Jersey/New York Transit scheduling/tracking information to/from and within NYC/NJ

Once you board the bus for NYC it usually takes about 20 -25 minutes from home, depending on traffic, to reach Port Authority NY. In NYC there are a variety of transportation options to take you to the 5 boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island.

If you just want to spend some time in our local area you'll find plenty of great restaurants and shopping in the immediate vicinity all within walking distance of home. The NJ Light Rail is located just several blocks from here if you fancy a trip to the Newport Center shopping Mall In Jersey City, Liberty Science Center or Liberty State Park.

For folks attending events at Met Life Stadium in NJ, you're just 35 minutes from home via bus or 15 - 20 minutes by car.

** VERY IMPORTANT LOCAL AIRPORT INFORMATION: If at all possible I recommend traveling through JFK Airport (New York), LGA Airport (New York) or Stewart Airport (SWF) and AVOID NEWARK AIRPORT (EWR) because it is rated the worst airport in our area for public transportation. Starting October 2022 Newark (EWR) will be removed from the "NYC City Code" which means it will no longer be considered part of the NYC Airport System. The consequences may be higher prices all around, including with local transportation. It is currently very difficult and expensive to use any type of local transit when traveling from EWR to our surrounding cities and the recommended options for transportation is using UBER, LYFT or Taxi service
*** UBER now offers shuttle service from JFK & LGA directly to Port Authority Bus Terminal In Manhattan. Please check your UBER App for more information ***

PAYMENT: Balance due payment arrangements must be made immediately after completing booking by contacting the host. Balance can be paid via REVOLUT, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, WISE or CASH upon arrival. PayPal not accepted at this time

**Checks, Money Orders and Western Union are not accepted**

No car service is provided.

Thanks and Happy Travels!

SPECIAL NOTE.... I understand things are financially tough all over so don't be afraid to ask about any possible discounts on booking rates. I am always happy to offer a little discount within reason. Cheers, Eddie

About the Area

(Walking Tour Video) https://youtu.be/Amm1VkMuMyI?si=6gS8dPuTki039lwg This is a quiet area with many restaurants and shopping. The bus stop for buses to and from New York City is just a 1 minute walk away. As of Feb. 2024 we now have a large paid public parking garage just around the corner from home at a cost of $10.00 per day. Parking pass must also be purchased for street parking. Parking pass can be purchased on site or using the West New York Parking App. There are also charging spots available for electric vehicles but the charge output is a bit slow. In June 2024 New York City will be charging additional tolls (NYC Congestion Pricing) in addition to regular tolls for vehicles entering or traveling within the City making it very expensive to use personal vehicle within certain areas (Please Google search "NYC Congestion Pricing Plan" for updated information). There are several area parks, one of which offers breathtaking views of the New York skyline. Many shopping and dining options in our area are all within walking distance if you do not want to travel to New York. To our home from Port Authority NY, take #159 or #156 NJ Transit Bus to Bergenline & 57th Street. Walk to 56th Street and make left. House is 3/4 block on left side

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

I'm really pleased with my stay with Eddie.
I benefited from his assistance from my country, France. And when I arrived at JFK airport, he was available to assist me. The stay went marvellously well in a lively and very respectful neighbourhood.
I will definitely make a reservation at Eddie's for my next trip.
His flat is so clean that sometimes you're afraid of doing something stupid hahahah... I really liked it.

What to say about our stay, everything was perfect from the beginning to the end, the most perfect about our stay was our amazing host Eddie, you never get bored chating with him, he gave us the best advices to make our stay enjoyable several months before our arrival (since it was our first time in the US).
The only con thing because there must be one, is the fact that we had to leave, we hope that we'll come back and visit again.

We had the most wonderful 5 days at Eddie's place! From the moment we walked through the door, we felt incredibly welcome. Eddie gave us so many great recommendations for both the New Jersey area and New York City – they were really helpful! My friend and I also enjoyed the great conversations we had with Eddie during our stay. I can highly recommend staying here to everyone! The price is very affordable, and New York City is only a 25-minute bus ride away. Plus, Eddie is an amazing host! Thank you for 5 wonderful days! If we return to New Jersey, we will definitely stay with Eddie again :)

A great welcome, the place is very clean, you will sleep in peace in a safe neighborhood. Parking is at a low cost and transport is a 2-minute walk away. You will travel safely and with peace of mind because Eddie is a real travel facilitator. He will brief you on the pitfalls of the Big Apple to avoid. Our discussions were fascinating. If you are looking for a place to sleep, that's good. If you want to live a unique experience, that's even better! Eddie is a person to discover!

I had an amazing stay with Eddie in Jersey! From the moment I arrived, he made me feel right at home with his warm welcome. Eddie is incredibly funny and talkative—he really knows how to keep a conversation going and has a great sense of humor that made my stay even more enjoyable. It felt more like staying with an old friend than just a host. Whether it was sharing local tips or just chatting about life, I never had a dull moment. If you’re looking for a fun and friendly place to stay, I highly recommend staying with Eddie!

We had a perfect stay in Eddie's house. The location was quiet, the bed was so cozy and comfortable. We had a really good sleep and allways woke up refreshed. Thank you so much and we only can recommend Eddie. The only think was: we could not stay longer.

Jutta, you took the words right out of my mouth... "I wish you could have stayed longer as well" It was my pleasure to have been able to host you and Heiko. Happy Travels my friends!

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
