Our apartment is small but well maintained. It is very cozy and clean. It is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, blender, coffee maker, toaster, large stove / oven and refrigerator. All linens, bath towels, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, basic toiletries and laundry detergent are included in your stay so you can spend less time packing and more time having fun. For business travelers (or anyone) we offer the use of our printer over Wi-Fi for important documents that can also be printed using your smartphone.

It really is a home away from home. My space is small but my heart is big and you will always be treated as family. I offer complimentary light breakfast that you can easily make yourself to help kickstart your day.

With plenty of local transportation just 1.5 blocks away you can travel to New York City Port Authority Bus & Subway Terminal. From there the sky is the limit as to where you can go in NYC..... 42nd Street (Times Square), Empire State Building, One World Observatory, Intrepid Air & Space Museum, Central Park, Stature Of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Rockefeller Center, MOMA.... the list is endless! All points in Lower, Mid & Upper Manhattan. On a nice day you can walk 25 minutes to the Port Imperial Ferry (Weehawken, NJ) which will take you to Wall Street/Pier 11 and so much more. Please visit nywaterway.com for fares, routes and schedules. Pssst......my favorite would be The Museum Of Natural History, but that's between you and me (it's a must see).

Once you board the bus for NYC it usually takes about 30 minutes from home, depending on traffic, to reach Port Authority NY. In NYC there are a variety of transportation options to take you to the 5 boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island. If you just want to spend some time in our local area you'll find plenty of great restaurants and shopping in the immediate vicinity (all within walking distance) of home. The NJ Light Rail is located just several blocks from here if you fancy a trip to the Newport Center Mall In Jersey City, Liberty Science Center or Liberty State Park. Of course I am always on hand to help plan your day trips.

We offer TV with local channels and your room is equipped with Netflix, Amazon Prime videos and HBONow via Roku streaming and free high-speed WiFi. There is no mess or clutter because we like to keep things simple. I'm an empty-nester as my only son graduated from NJIT university, found his own flat and started a new career at Tesla.

I am a 50 year old man who is very friendly, sociable and happy to host. I have a friend who owns several properties and I help her host on the Airbnb platform. This has allowed me to gain lots of experience in hosting in the last 3 years. I finally decided to list my son's old room since he moved out. I am available to my guests as much or as little as they wish. I am very excited to start this new journey with Homestay. (Se habla Español)

About the Area

This is a quiet area with many restaurants and shopping. The bus stop for buses to and from New York City is just a minute's walk away. There is only on-street parking and a parking permit must be obtained from Monday to Friday for non-residents at a charge of $ 3.00 per day. I offer a free one-day pass for guests who need a street parking. There are several area parks, one of which offers breathtaking views of the New York skyline. Many shopping and dining options in our area are all within walking distance if you do not want to travel to New York. ....... From Newark Airport (EWR) Uber is usually 30 minutes in moderate traffic, average fare is $32. There is also the "Newark Airport Express" Bus that takes you into Port Authority Bus Terminal NYC. From Port Authority you can take either the 156 or 159 New Jersey Transit Bus and get off on Bergenline Avenue & 57th Street.... our home is less than 2 blocks away. From Laguardia and Kennedy Airports public transportation is easier than it may look on a map. I recommend visiting the MTA website (MTA.info.com & airport-jfk.com) for additional travel information to and from LGA and Kennedy. The "AirTrain" service from, Laquardia and Kennedy airports will connect you with other bus/subway stations that will easily get you into Port Authority Bus Terminal. Once at Port Authority please follow instructions noted above for bus service. Also visit njtransit.com for New Jersey Public transport information and updates. If you contact me with travel plans I would gladly help plan the best route to our home from airports. Traveling can be stressful and I'll do my best to help alleviate some of that stress

When I got to LaGuardia airport I was stressed as I had no idea how I was going to get to Eddie's house as the Uber was very expensive. Eddie went out of his way to help me and find the quickest cheapest route to his place in West New York. When I got there he gave me a warm welcoming and I instantly felt at home he said "This is now your home and I'll be your guest" this was the first time someone said so to me. Throughout my stay Eddie has been very helpful and always positive, weather it was through transportation to Time square, getting food, finding places or just general things which I needed. I will NEVER forget how well he treated me. This was my first homestay and I expected the worst, but I definitely think that it can't get better than Eddie. He is always there when you need him, when you call him he answers the phone immediately, he gives you space when needed and most of all he ACTUALLY CARES about his guests or shall I say his home owners.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
