About the Area
We live in the flat of the house of 1911 on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately, there's no lift, but it's healthy to go up and downstairs everyday :o) Our house is situated in the district that is famous for its historic sites, e.g., there's Fedor Dostoevsky museum located in the flat where the world-known writer Fedor Dostoevsky lived. Next door to the museum there's Kuznechny market where you can buy and taste some Russian delicacies (delicatessen) such as caviar, smoked salmon, countryside cottage cheese, sour cream, fruit and vegetables, pastry. Besides, there are a lot of supermarkets, cafés (coffee houses), restaurants and shopping centres near our house. If you are hungry, you can have lunch or dinner in different cheap dining rooms (canteens) in our city. If you are going to the Opera and Ballet theatre you can go there on foot or just book a taxi(cab), we can help to book it :o) If you are about to see the suburban imperial parks and palaces or to go to Moscow you can easily reach the two railway stations (Vitebskiy train station and Moskovskiy train station) to take a commuter train to Pavlovsk/Tsarskoe Selo or a high-speed/night train to Moscow.

If you'd like to taste Russian food you can go to different good and cheap dining rooms (canteens) in the city, there are some dining rooms near our house, so we ourselves go there, because sometimes it's cheaper to eat there than cook food at home! :o) Your luggage may be left after check-out. You can use an iron and WI-FI (free of charge). Smoking is strictly prohibited (by law) inside the flat/building.
