About the Homestay
****PRICE REDUCTION FOR PEOPLE NOT USING KITCHEN FACILITIES*****
Please note that we are looking for someone that will use kitchen for light cooking. We prefer guests to use the oven and not to fry food everyday. I live near the city, sea and parks in the Suburb of Artane in Dublin 5. I live with my husband and three children. They are 7, 6 and 3 years old. It is a friendly, lively house. Although it can get noisy at times, especially when the kids come home from school. They usually go to bed about 8pm and the house is quiet again. We go to bed early also, about 9pm. If you are looking for a very quiet house then maybe this is not the house for you . However If you enjoy a lively busy house where you will get a big welcome and made feel at home then this is the house for you. Our house has recently been refurbished and is modern and spacious. There are 3 bedrooms in total, 1 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, large kitchen come dining room, sitting room and a play room. It is a 5 min walk to Malahide Road where there are many bus routes. Both myself and my husband are well travelled and love learning about different cultures. We promise a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We prefer to host females. Please note that the price does not include an evening meal. We are only seeking people who will do ‘light’ cooking, preferably use the oven and not fry food everyday. Seeking people who are clean and tidy in the kitchen & bathroom.

She is very nice, her children have great heart. She takes care of the guests and treated me with warm heart.
Well, I wouldn't know how to value them very well. In principle, they seemed like a lovely family and left me my space. Then with the days I saw that they entered my room and they changed my bag, they took my sheets, well this was not bad, but they didn't tell me anything that they would enter my room, I thought that was my job. One day I wanted to put a washing machine, and they told me that that day I could not put it on, to put it the next day, without any explanation, and then they told me to go to a laundry room, they started to change things for me, such as the garlic for cooking that I kept In the cupboard, I found it stored in a bag when I returned one day from work. But the days I found it in the patio, outside the kitchen, they took it outside I imagine because it bothered them. I thought it bothered them, so I bought another type of garlic powder. I only cooked at night, since I work all day. And suddenly, every day, they tell me that maybe an Australian cousin is coming to live at home, so I would have to start looking for something else. I got it and started looking for it, because apart from the fact that I didn't believe much what they told me, I was no longer comfortable. Well, not a week has passed since they told me this, that the hostess sat with me and told me that they didn't want me to continue with them because it bothered them so much that I cooked with onions, that the smell bothered them a lot, and several other nonsense. So, really, I didn't understand anything. The time I have been I have been a pretty good guest, clean, and I have not given any problems. I would only say that if you are not willing to share any space in your house with a guest, I think you should not rent a room in your house, nothing more.
Clodagh and here family are wonderful.
They are nice and helpful and their kids are just adorable.
I had a lovely time with them, the house is really well located and the room is so beautiful.
Clodagh and her family are so so lovely and friendly. Always there if you need something and so easygoing! You will for sure feel at home. If I go back to Dublin one day I will definitely book my bedroom at Clodagh’s. I spent two months at their house and It was such a great experience.
The kids are very nice and funny, they are a bit noisy but they’re normal kids who play and fight together.
The bedroom is lovely with a double bed and the house is very close to bus stops and there are a Lidl and Tesco 10 minutes walking from home.
I 100% recommend it!!
she told me to use earplug because of the noise,(actually, it was very noisy around 2:30a.m.
) but i could not use hair dryer at night because i can not make the noise after 9 p.m.,,,, i have to wash my clothes by my hand, I just could use the washing machine only once a week, and hard to find the place to dry, her mother told me not to use the clothes dryer, but i had to dry anyway. there were so many rules in the house, only i could get for the breakfast was bread, and cereal, milk. i had to share the bathroom with 5 people.
they are very busy because they have 3 children under 6 years old.
Clodagh and her family made me feel like home ! I did enjoy my stay very much and I recommend this very friendly family for an unforgettable , enjoyable stay in Dublin.
Clodagh explained me all , showed me shops , bus stops and helped with everything .
Clodagh place is wonderful !!
The hosts is such a nice people and very kindly. The house is located Artane that is safe area and the bus stopping is close to house. And 3 kids are very lovely and cute. Thanks.
I absolutely loved my time with Clodagh and her family! I don't think I would have survived my first few weeks in Dublin without them. Clodagh and Larry were so helpful in every way. From looking for jobs, to figuring out the bus system, to just being a supportive voice. They went above and beyond the call of duty to help with anything and everything. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for accommodations in Dublin. The home is very tidy and is in a nice location to get to City Center easily.
Overall, I can say that I had a fantastic stay at Clodahg´s home. Her family is really nice and they made me feel at home since the first moment I steped into the house. They were always willing to help. They gave me advise about buses, places in the city, supermarkets, etc. There are three small children in the house, so it can be said that it is not a very “quiet” house, but the kids won´t bother you if you need some privacy and you always feel welcome to spend time with the family in the common areas in case you want to have some company.
The location of the house is really good. There is a bus stop 5 minutes walking from the house which has three or four different lines of buses that can take you to Dublin city centre in 15 minutes. There is a Tesco and Lidl 5-10 minutes walking from the house. It is a safe area where you can walk around the neighbourhood without any problem.
What an amazing homestay experience that I had with Clodagh's lovely family. They were very helpful and I enjoyed talking with them. I'm not good at English but they tried to understand what I said. Very friendly people and lovely house. I highly recommend Clodagh as they will definitely give you a great experience.
