Myrna and Rick are the perfect hosts. They are both very wonderful, open , lovely people. Great conversationalists.
We felt very lucky to have the chance to stay by them for three weeks, in their absolutely beautiful home. We felt very welcome, and at home. Any questions we'd have, they were always more than happy to help. The room was wonderfully done, providing everything you could possibly need. Beds were very comfy. As was the atmosphere. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the Garten, by the water very peaceful. Rick has a beautiful garden, that I would recommend checking out. And we had a wonderful breakfast every morning, and were lucky enough to be invited for dinner a couple times ;) Myrna is a very good cook, and a talented cake decorator. We would more than recommend anyone , if they get chance to stay by Myrna and Ricks. We're looking forward to the next time we see them! Maybe in Germany!
Myrna and Rick are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Everything about our stay was fantastic. They made our time in San Diego very special and memorable due to their amazing recommendations of sightseeing in and around the city and the time we spend in their beautiful home. Myrna made us
some amazing food during our stay - and she even took us to get our nails done! Both she and her husband Rick took time to sit down and chat with us every night we got home. They were both so welcoming and kind. This was our first homestay ever and will definitely not be the last. If you want to explore the area of San Diego while feeling welcomed and at home, you will not regret staying at Myrna's.
We had a great experience & perhaps one of the best example for what a Home Stay is all about.
My mother and I stay here with Myrna and her husband for a total of 7 night, 3 nights during the first half of our trip and 4 night during the second half of our trip here in Chula Vista. The house is a very neatly maintained and they have an amazing backyard. The hosts are the most courteous people I have come across in ages. They made us food and even took us to the trolley station....So here is three cheers to Myrna and her husband!

I came down to SoCal for fertility treatment with my partner and my mother. From the moment we were greeted at the door Myrna and Rick were warm and welcoming. Throughout the three week stay they were friendly and made us always feel welcome! These are two of the sweetest folks. Their home is beautiful also. I would not hesitate to recommend you to do a Homestay with them! Myrna made us or supplied us with breakfast each day and went out of her way to be hospitable always. I can't say enough good things about these folks! Hearts of gold!!! When/if we go back down to SoCal we would love to stay with them again! Thanks for reading!
My friend and I informed Myrna that we'd be arriving late in the evening, but we arrived even later than expected. However, Myrna still welcomed us into her home like friends, even family. She made sure we didn't go to bed with empty stomach, kept us company for the duration of our unplanned dinner, and made sure we knew where everything we may need is, before she went to sleep.
Her house is big and beautiful, and is located in a nice neighborhood. There's a swimming pool, gazebo and barbecue grill in the patio, and Myrna has a stockload of food and other supplies to keep her visitors well-fed and entertained. The bedroom and bathroom are well maintained and organized, and the beds are comfy and nice for a change from camping on previous nights. What's more, she arranged for us a two double-bed room, as opposed to one bed.
The following morning, Myrna had prepared and ready for us omelet, potatoes and toasts along with a choice of orange juice or mixed fruits juice or both! She doesn't believe in light breakfast. We shared of our school studies, traveling experiences and future trips, and she shared with us her and her family's experiences, knowledge and suggestions. We didn't feel like strangers at all, but rather right at home.
Many of her guests are students from abroad and stay for longer periods of time. We were fortunate to be able to book for one night and get a taste of the piece of haven that they have, worry-free of everything save for the studies itself. We are envious for sure.
We certainly recommend staying with Myrna and her husband, especially for students (or otherwise) that would like to focus on their studies/vacation/business without the hassle of everything else. We'll be on the lookout to staying with them again if we're ever around the area. It isn't simply a place to stay for the night, but a full experience of home and more. This was our first homestay experience, but it certainly will not be our last. Thank you so much, Myrna and Rick!!
p.s. Congratz on your job promotion, Rick!

This is our first home stay experience and we are very happy we chose to stay with Myrna. From the first greeting at the front door through out the whole experience, Myrna and Rick were extremely warm and welcoming. They showed us around the house, the back yard pool, where everything is located despised the late hour. She even offered to prepare a dinner with salmon for us. Coffee and bottle waters were readily available, so are fresh towels, and all other amenities just like a first class hotel. We booked 2 rooms thinking there is only one bed in each room but ended up stay in one room with 2 double beds. The beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. She made us a wonderful hot breakfast the next morning and we enjoyed conversing with her so much that we did not want to leave for our planned activities in SD. Myrna and Rick are the best hosts one can ask for, we highly recommend them for your next home stay in San Diego area.
Amazing friendly hosts who love to let you feel at home. They do everything to make you feel comfortable. The house is great too, the area is beautiful en quiet. Transportation (by trolley) to downtown San Diego is easy. Free parking for your car at the trolleystation.
Thank you so much for the fantastic stay, we love to visit you again when we are in the area.

Everything is perfect! Myrna is a really a very friendly and interesting person, who gave us great tips! The House is really amazing. I enjoyed staying at her place.
We recently had the opportunity to spend a weekend in the San Diego, CA. area.
Fortunately, we were hosted by Myrna and her wonderful husband, Rick.
From the time we contacted her to make the booking… all the way to the time when we had to say good bye, our experience was SUPERB.
She gave us excellent directions on how to get to their home.
Once we arrived, she met us in such a familiar way, just as if we were relatives that she had been longing to see for a long, long time.
The bedroom assigned to us was very clean, spacious and just perfect for a very comfortable stay.
Their home is huge and very well located in a magnificent area, close to the freeways, restaurants and shopping centers.
The communication flowed and flowed, talking about travel, family and life in general.
Although we had plans to do things to do around San Diego, suddenly and naturally, we put all those plans in the back of our minds, because spending time with Rick and Myrna was the highlight of our whole weekend getaway.
They both enjoy family, life and traveling around the world.
Their enthusiasm for life, friendship and travel is highly contagious.
The conversations with them can be as light and superficial or as deep and meaningful as one chooses to.
Soon after we met them, they found, without even trying, a deep and loving place in our hearts.
We highly recommend that you choose to pay extra for complete breakfasts for the duration of your stay.
Myrna will prepare the most delicious breakfast where one feels the LOVE in every bite.
We were lucky to meet her mom and dad, during a Sunday morning visit.
They are just as loving, wise and well travelled as Myrna and Rick.
Rick and Myrna’s house is truly a HOME.
Once you meet them and spend time with them… you will become connected with them to a point where you will be wanting to go back and visit them again and again and again.
As teachers that we are, we give them the following grades:
Conversation and Sharing… A+++
House Location… A+
Overall Experience of having Met Them In Life… A+++++++
Thank you, Myrna and Rick!
