About the Homestay
Hi there. We live in beautiful inner city Coorparoo which is only 7km from the city and has easy access to all major universities and colleges. There is a bus stop right out front of our house.
We have been doing student homestay for 12 years now and have welcomed many international students to our family, many of whom we are still in contact with. We offer breakfast and dinner everyday included in the homestay fee with an option for packed lunches during the week at an extra cost.
Please note that this is a meals included Student Homestay and cooking facilities are not provided for the use of Homestay guests. There is no option to cook your own meals.
Our family consists of Mark, an accountant, Amanda, an interior designer, Dylan who is 19 and studying at QUT and Joseph who is 20 and works full time, our dog, Woody, and our 2 cats Sebastian and Jemima.
We have 2 comfortable and beautifully presented rooms currently available for student homestay. These rooms share the main bathroom with Dylan. Our house is very large and there is plenty of space for everyone with a lovely pool and entertaining area and a separate TV games room.
We prefer to have students stay for longer periods so we usually won't take bookings months ahead.
We have dinner round the dining table together every night and Amanda loves to cook. So be prepared to be warmly welcomed and well fed.

About the Area
Our house is located in a lovely leafy suburb on the Southside of Brisbane just 7km from the city centre. There is easy access to all major universities and colleges and the bus stop is right out front of our house. There are also lots of shops and amenities close by. Coorparoo train station is at the end of our road.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

Our rules are pretty simple. We will run through everything with you when we arrive.
We ask that you are respectful, clean and tidy. Keep your room clean and clean up after yourself. A cleaner will access your room once a fortnight.
I couldn't change the details on the meals but we do include a contintental breakfast and dinner everyday and these are included in the homestay fee. Guests can not cook in the kitchen. Dinner is usually at 7 to 7:30 every night and we ask that you let us know by 4pm if you will not be home for dinner that night.
Make sure that the doors to the house are always locked when you leave.
Smoking is allowed outdoors only.
Amanda & Mark are the most amazing hosts one can live with. The hospitality, the easy going friendly attitude and the family atmosphere helps a lot when you are away from home, because they really treat you as a family. And oh ya, make sure you are around when Amanda is cooking in evenings as you won't want to miss that. I will highly recommend them to anyone considering finding a home away from home in Brisbane.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
