I live with my miniature dachshund in the neighbourhood of Glendowie which is one of the most beautiful in Auckland, boasting 2 beaches + shops & restaurants within walking distance. My home overlooks the park[ complete with cows!] and is famous for watching sunsets from the deck [maybe with a cold drink in hand]. Its a lovely quiet neighbourhood that has great walks in both the parks and reserves overlooking the estuary and harbour.
I have hosted over 70 guests and my visitor book is overflowing with great feedback about their room, the people from around the world they have met during their stay with me and of course, the fabulous food! 'Self serve' continental breakfast is available and I can offer full board so please ask about my reasonably priced evening meals -
The bus stop is directly outside my house, with buses leaving regularly to St Heliers where buses depart every 15 minutes - takes about 35 minutes to get to Downtown traveling along a coastal road passing another 3 beaches - very beautiful journey.

Shane is a great host, making people feel welcome. We had a great time staying with her and would definitely consider staying again with her.
Highly recommended place and the host.
It was excellent all round
Shane was very welcoming and friendly. The Bedroom was immaculate and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
I loved Shane's spacious home. I felt at home. Highly recommend to any travelers. Brilliant view from the kitchen. Wished I could stay there for good.
Very broad minded and relaxed host .
Thank you very much Shane for opening your home for the travelers.
My daughter and I had a great time at Shane`s place. It was in a beautiful quiet place, and the room was confortable and clean.
Shane's place is beautiful, clean and has everything you need. She's a fab host, very helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks for a lovely welcoming first week in New Zealand.
We spent the long 'Treaty' weekend at Shanes place at the beginning of our month-long trek around Nth Island. The hospitality and friendly advice was excellent! Top marks also to Charlie the Dachshund, the man of the house, for his excellent and almost convincing "performing seal" impersonations!
The room was airy and comfortable, it was also within a short walk of an interesting coastline and cosmopolitan St Heliers and Mission Bay.
We gladly recommend Shanes place!!

Lovely house, clean, airey and bright. Positioned slightly far from the shops , however bus transportation is just a few yards away. Breakfast is more than adequate. Shane is easy to get along with and so is the cute little dog.
Beautiful and clean room with a small fully renovated ensuite. A separate entry making it fully independent and accessible after a late dinner. When needed something Shane was there to help. We are hoping to see Shane (hopefully) next year if not before.
Thanks Shane from family Ilic.
