What I enjoyed the most was the warm and personal hospitality of the host. She went out of her way to make my stay comfortable, from picking me up late at night to providing complimentary breakfasts and helping with my laundry when it rained.
What I enjoyed during my stay was the possibility to meet new people, not only local people who shared with me their stories of life, and told me what it is to live in the UK, but also international students around my age.
First of all, it's cheaper, you can easily afford a home that's close to the centre, which wouldn't be the case if it was a hotel!!
In general, it is more immersive and more affordable than other accommodation options. It is a unique privilege to get to talk with your host and learn more about the place where you are staying through them.
