About the Homestay
We live in West Wickham which is a very pleasant suburb of London. We are about 6 mins walk to the train station with trains directly into central London - London Bridge, Waterloo and Charing Cross. There is also a handy bus stop near our house. The journey into central London by train takes about 35 mins.
Our little town has lots to offer, 3 supermarkets, cafes, pubs and restaurants, leisure centre with swimmjng pool, and lots of small shops, parks and woods. Bromley, which is a larger shopping area is 10 -20 mins away by bus depending on traffic.
We have two dogs, a lively cocker spaniel and a cavapoo (King Charles x poodle).
My older children are at university, so at home there are usually three of us, Wendy, John and daughter Sophia who is 8 years old.
Please remember, that this is a busy family home, and not a hostel or hotel so our home is very rarely perfect!
Wendy can offer qualified language instruction in her native language English. One hour of instruction costs 25.00 GBP. The classes will be given by the family member at the accommodation.
The room rate includes the following services: Breakfast, washing machine usage and internet access

About the Area
Our homestay is the perfect location for visiting London, the Kent countryside or the south coast. Our home is in West Wickham which is a very nice typical English town in greater London with many families, young people and elderly. There are lots of things to do here - there are pubs, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, parks, swimming pool, gym and even woods if you like walking.
We are 6 minutes walk from the train station which goes directly to London Bridge, Waterloo East and Charing Cross. The journey takes around 35 mins.

Guests have often never heard of West Wickham but when they come they are very pleasantly surprised. Some guests have even moved to the area permanently!

This home has exceeded our expectations. The kindness and infinite patience of John and Wendy and sympathy of his daughters made us feel like family. The room very clean. And Wendy is an excellent cook , and can eat as much as we would like to repeat. The house is five minutes from a train station that takes you half an hour in London Bridge, Waterloo or Charing Cross.con certainly repeat when we return to London at the Blair House.
Simply the BEST host family in London.
Thank you Wendy, John and Sophia.

Wendy and John's family is the best for us during our 14-day journey in Britain. They are very much friendly hospitality and helpful. It was our first trip for us(my husband and me) to Britain . When we arrived at Westwickham on June 18 night, John offered us a ride althought it was five minutes walk to the station. The bed room is so nice with a double bed and a single bed. We were able to cook our meals in the bright big kitchen with a comfortable dining-room. And Wendy always prepared something nice for our breakfast. Besides, there are everything ready for us to have a relaxing time, fridge, cook, and all the things you need to make a meal. And the couple often help us washing clothes. It was very pleasant to sit by the table looking out of the window. There is a big garden outside the dining room. And sometimes their dog would run here and there barking happily! Their daughter, a lovely girl, came to our garden to have a look! We have never had a more wonderful trip ever before.

We had a great time at their home! Very nice and kind family! Someday we wish to visit again!
The family has been really hospitable and made every effort to make me feel at home. Knowledgeable, cultured ad friendly best describes this family. Their children, especially Sophia, their 5 year old daughter is so adorable and well-mannered. Even their two dogs are friendly and very likeable. In terms of amenities, the house is accessible to the train station and town centre...and Wendy is a good cook :)
I found the Blairs extremely warm, pleasant, friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay with them a lot. Their children are also very polite and nice. I will definitely stay with them again if I decide to come to London.
