About the Homestay
Family home near the city centre.
We live in a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in Priestfield, Edinbugh, 20 minutes walk to Princess Street or the same by bus.
In our house lives mum, a mature 9 year old boy and a handsome, very friendly, well behaved chocolate labrador dog called Murphy.
Our house is clean and comfortable, with a lovely garden to the rear, with a raised area for seating that receives the sun all day, when it decides to shine on us.
As we are located in central Edinburgh, we are only a bus ride from the beach or the city centre. We also have at the top of the road the Prestonfield House Hotel, which is a 5 star venue and runs weekly a Taste of Scotland event. It is expensive but a fantastic evening showcasing Scotland's finest. It's a wonderful place to stay. Shopping centre is a 10 minute walk or 5 minutes by bus.
In our house, we are all sociable. However, we understand that you may enjoy a quiet night to yourself as we do too!

Please use our home as your own, but please take into account that I have a 9 year old. Who needs to sleep, he'd be willing to stay up all night, but I'm afraid I don't allow it. Once he's asleep, he hears nothing! But I'd appreciate noise to a minimum after 9pm.
If you require the house to be warmer, please ask.
Feel free to use the kitchen, but please leave it as you find it.
Don't ask a stranger into our home without asking first.
Please enjoy your stay, ensure you leave things as you found them.

Lee is a very welcoming and kind woman, she let me be completely independant but was always available when I needed her or information. I was made very welcome by her and her family, not forgetting her adorable dog, Murphy !
This guest awarded the host 5 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.
This is just beautiful family,
I shall choose no other family that that one,
I thank them enormously and it is a family more than charming !!!
I stayed with Lee, Ben and Murphy for 4 months as an exchange student at the University of Edinburgh and I had an excellent time. They all made me feel welcome from the very first day starting with a walk with Murphy followed by a drive around the area to show you where everything is. It's about a 30 - 40 minute walk to the city centre, a 5 minute walk to catch a bus to the city and a 15 minute walk to the nearest shopping centre. The room has most of the amenities that you need: towels, bed sheets, couch, desk, cupboards and drawers, TV, umbrella, hairdryer and an adaptor. There is a toilet, shower and a kitchen stocked with utensils, and you are free to purchase and store any food in the fridge and cupboards. The house rules are simple to follow and you are free to come and go as you please. Lee is really helpful and accommodating and is always up for a chat. She especially helped me to step up my housework game and gave lots of sightseeing suggestions for Edinburgh. Ben is a mature, energetic child (who can be cheeky at times!) and is happy to play games with you. If you love dogs, Murphy is a cuddly gentle giant who sometimes strolls into your room to say hi! You are free to walk him if you like. Overall, a great experience and would not hesitate to do it all again.
I've been in Lee house for 2 wonderful weeks! The house is really clean and beautiful.
Lee, Ben and Murphy are lovely.
I really recommend this amazing family :)
I've spent 3 months at Lee's during my traineeship and I must say Lee and Ben have welcomed me from the very beginning of this period as if I was part of their family.
Lee is a very nice person; if you need anything, just ask and she will be happy to help you, whether you need to call a taxi if you are in a hurry or you need someone to cheer you up in a bad moment. She helped me a lot also in improving my "house(room)keeping " skills (laundry, Hoover, ironing, cooking!) :D if you are looking for someone to have a chat with, she will be there to speak with you in front of a cup of tea, on the sofa in her cozy living room.
Ben is a lovely child, full of positive energy and always happy to share his games with you if you like.
They both are very friendly and they want you to enjoy your time at Edinburgh so do not be surprised if they invite you to join them in their trips during the weekend!
Not to mention Murphy, their dog. He is a very good dog! If you like, you can join Lee and Ben when they take Murphy out up to the hills, which is a perfect moment to take some pictures of Edinburgh and enjoy the Scottish nature.
My room was beautiful, full of anything I needed (hangers in the wardrobe included! :) ). I was allowed to use their cluttery and pots and anything that was in the kitchen. You do not need to bring towels and bed sheets as you will find everything in your room. The house is very clean and tidy, a very good place to live in.
You will feel at home!
