About the Homestay
Our family home forms the upper 2 floors of a lovely traditional Victorian Villa. It comprises 4 bedrooms in total, a spacious drawing room, dining area, kitchen, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) and a private garden to the rear. We live on a quiet road, opposite a beautiful park which is very close to the Firth of Forth waterfront.
In terms of location, our property is situated in the desirable area of Trinity (on the North side of Edinburgh) and has 'free' parking and is on a direct bus service (No 23) which goes right through Princes Street into Bristo Square.
City centre is very accessible by bus, car or a walk of around 20-25 minutes.
We have Wi-fi and TV.
There are 4 of us in the family, myself, my husband and 2 kids who are mostly away at university.
We love travelling and meeting people from different countries. Other favourite things to do are walking around this beautiful city, watching films, meeting up with friends, cooking and food in general (especially far eastern cuisines).

About the Area
Our house is located on the north side of the city in a quiet and safe area. We are under 2 miles from Princes Street which is in central Edinburgh and only 25-30 minutes’ drive from the airport.
Trinity is a lovely, friendly residential area with lots of local amenities. Only a short bus ride from the city centre which takes about 15 minutes, it feels like an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can enjoy the light summer evenings with spectacular sunsets from the eateries at Newhaven Harbour nearby.
Also, the city cycle path is immediately accessible and is a pleasant, leafy walking or cycling route to many areas in the city.
It is a mainly residential part of town but there are small shops, chemists, a post office , coffee shops and a supermarket within easy walking distance.

This is the first time we tried Homestay and we will definitely do it again. Though I suspect we after this experience might have too high expectations. Mikki’s home is very homely and she and her husband made us feel very welcome and comfortable. What made this stay special was Mikki. She has a lovely personality and is very, very helpful.
We spend 3 night at Mikkis house and enjoyed our stay very much. Mikki and her husband are great hosts, thanks to the tips they gave us we had an even greater stay at Edinburgh. The house is in a quite and save area with a bus-stop infront, so we could leave the car there and explore the city via bus - though it is possible to walk - wich we did also. The room is nice, bright and cosy.
We absolutely can recommend Mikki - thank You again for Your hospitality and kindness!
We have been fantastic with Mikki and her husband .They were very kind with us .Our room wonderful .If we return sometimes we will go to her house without doubt .Todo maravilloso y perfecto.Son muy buenas personas y unos anfitriones de diez.Gracias

We have enjoyed our stay in Mikki's house very much. We had a nice room in a lovely victorian house in a friendly surrounding. It was easy to go to the city centre by bus. She (and her family) is very kind and helpful. She gave us a lot of valuable hints and tipps for shopping and sightseeing in Edinbourgh. We can recommend her without any restrictions.
I really enjoyed staying with Mikki and her husband. They were very helpful and forthcoming. Would definitely stay there again!
Very nice! Hosts clearly like what they do, they are very flexible and the rooms are actually quite big. Perfect location right next to a busstop but still very quiet. Close to the sea and on route to the airport.
Will certainly be recommending whenever someone wants to stay. We had a good time.
